A Huge thank you

Well, what a wonderful weekend of cycling!  The Bradford on Avon Cycling Festival saw over 420 cyclists over the weekend, with 156 riders being under 16!  From the Hill Climb to the Sportives and the Family Trail and Toddle, we saw plenty of grit, sweat, and only a few tears! But more than anything lots of happy smiling faces enjoying the great sport of Cycling.

We couldn’t put on an event like this without the help and support of our Sponsors – Varn, TT Cycles, AB Dynamics, Jones Hill Fiduciary Financial Planners and Moulton Bicycles

As well as the wonderful marshals and members of the community who supported the festival all weekend keeping you all safe the festival running smoothly, the show really couldn’t go on without all these fantastic people.  A special shout out to the Community Event Volunteers and Curveball studios

Our 2018 Hill Climb Champion – Andrew Feather

The Hill climb results can be found below…

(Please note there are 3 tabs – Mini Hill Climb, Full Hill Climb and then the Full Hill Climb but under 16’s  results only)

We had some stand out performances, the headlines are…

Fastest Time and the one to beat – 53.44 seconds!  An amazing effort from Andrew Feather.

The 2 fastest women were Anna Karenina and Aimee Parsons in the joint first place time of 1.15.53!

The Children all did an amazing job in the Mini Hill Climb with winning boy being Alexander Barrington-Crow in 18.34 seconds and the fastest girl Maia Howard in 22.16 seconds

We also had a number of brilliant and quirky performances, a few being Joel and Hattie Bragg completing the climb on a bike and tag along combo!  Plankenstein, the hand-built wooden bike ridden by Adrian Field.  A heroic ride from Kevin Pfister, on tiny wheels, riding up the hill in 1 minute 25 seconds on his Brompton.

Our youngest Hillclimber of the day was Hunter Forrester, aged 5, and our oldest hill climber was Mark Lomax, aged 72!
